Should be asleep. In the process of switching to dayshift, and by in the process I mean I have to be up in 6 hrs for work.. but my bodies fighting for nightshift.

Anyway, I know its been a while and there’s lots to update on.

Jess and I ran two 5Ks:

Mardi Gras 5K

Missy left us, someone I am so glad to have had the opportunity to become so close with and get to know since getting back from deployment. Her departure was sad, but she’s now happily settled at Pope AFB working on her upgrade training for flight nursing! (What Ill be doing in Germany in September!)

Jess and I went on a trip to Santa Monica, and got to see JoAnna for a night! It was great.. if I could be back there right now I would be!

I’ll get some professional ones up as soon as they’re avail. It was a fantastic weekend and a beautiful wedding! And I can’t believe my best friend is married now!

Then I got back to Vegas just in time to have a going away for Will’s deployment, hang out for a few days. Then I was off to New Orleans for Erins Bachelorette party!

Phew that was a lot to update on! And that was in the quickest way possible! Lots going on. Now for some downtime/packing time. Gotta prep for Survival School!

Big News! (really big)

Hello Everyone! yes, I know it’s been a while once again. The holidays came and went this year, not feeling like the holidays at all since I was at work for all of it. However, along with the new year has come some exciting news. I’m moving to GERMANY!!

Yes, its far. Yes, I’m a bit scared. But I’m mostly excited for this new adventure and for all my travels. Ramstein is a choice assignment, especially as a flight nurse.. not very easy to get. I will be moving in August. As I get more news I’ll be sure to share!

Also in recent, found an amazing restaurant in Vegas called Hot N’ Juicy. Apparently it was on Man vs. Food at some point and it is AMAZING! They serve all seafood.. East coast style, and by that I mean disposable table cloth, paper towels and all. And.. in the summer they ship Maryland crabs in! (not that I’ll be here this summer) but I don’t know how I didn’t know about it for the past 2 years. Its fabulous! Here are some pictures from the past month:

Today was a long day at work. Lots of dumb things happened, and by the end I was pretty stressed…SO I went to a buffet at a local casino with a bunch of friends from work. It was SEAFOOD night! Which means we stuffed our faces with more crab legs than one person ever needs It was great.

Air Show is this weekend.. so it will be a long weekend at work. so goodnight!

So after months and months of contemplating and going back and forth.. I’ve decided to put in my flight nursing package.

I want to be part of the ‘real military’ world.

I want to travel.

I want my patients to be Active Duty.

So here it goes… I went and talked to my Chief Nurse 2 days ago and she was super excited and supportive of my decision. So then my next decision which I have spent the past 2 days mulling over: Where do I want to get stationed for flight nursing? BIG decision. There are 4 bases for active duty nurses to fly at; Pope (North Carolina), Scott (Illinois), Kadena (Japan), and Ramstein (Germany). I know people at all of these bases except Scott. From all the information I have gotten and the missions of each base I knew I either wanted Pope or Ramstein.

Which led me to a lot of thinking..

And ultimately I’ve decided to put Ramstein as my first choice. Pope as my second. This doesn’t necessarily mean I will get Ramstein, because there are a lot more openings at Pope…but we’ll see.

I’ve been told I’ll probably start my training in May and then PCS (move) in August sometime.

Exciting!

Emotional week…so i found this

and i searched for pictures of things that make me happy while im lying here unable to sleep..

The idea of dancing still makes me happy.. I think it always will. I’m actually trying to find a studio I like here to take some classes.

Happiness.. significant.. Love you mom.

One day I will again live somewhere that has a fall.

ONE day Ill have my own. And I can’t wait for that day.

I just liked this one..

Busy Busy weekend, but worth all the fun! Erin was here visiting.. it was so good to see her. Night after night of vegas strip activities.. lots of dancing and sore feet! On saturday night we went to the Fetish and Fantasy Halloween Ball (huge event rated by travel channel as one of the top 10 events in the world). So heres some pictures from the weekend…

Allie visited this weekend. It was great. Really great. Since I’ve been back from deployment I saw my Mom for a few days but other than that hadn’t seen any other friends or family, so this was super exciting. Along with the excitement of her wedding which is in March.

We had a super girlie fun weekend got out hair, nails, and shopping done (including the all important bridesmaid dress, which is beautiful!). We also had a Halloween party here on Saturday night. Heres a few pics from the weekend:

Thunderstorms in Vegas.. something that never happens.. Enjoyed thoroughly.

This week is going to be full of fun too.. Wills birthday, Erin (best friend from deployment) is coming to visit and a bunch of us are going to the Fetish and Fantasy Ball at the Hard Rock Hotel on Saturday for Halloween… An event named 1 of the top 10 events in the world by travel channel.. so should be fun!

Im working on my Vegas bucket list, because who knows how much longer Ill be out here. Fetish and Fantasy Ball being one. Arizona hot springs and kayaking another accomplished one… More to come
